JourneyGen AI, a generative AI startup focused on revolutionizing travel planning, needed a cohesive and professional brand identity to support its business goals. With an urgent pitch meeting with an airline just days away, the founder required a polished pitch deck and foundational branding elements to make a strong first impression.

JourneyGen AI had no visual presence when I first met with the team to discuss their needs. I worked with the founder to create a brand identity, leveraging their product insights and competitive analysis to create a unique logo and cohesive design system. The branding laid a strong foundation for market differentiation and ongoing pitch presentations.
I sketched initial concepts for the logo which included the J and G from their brand font, entertained to create an abstract plug — as JourneyGen AI plugs into existing software to amplify their travel needs.

Giving life to a faceless product.
The story behind the logo.
When approached to design the logo for JourneyGen AI, I knew the solution needed to embody more than just the company’s immediate offerings. Their name already provided a clear nod to their purpose—powering travel software through AI integration. The challenge was to create a logo mark that transcended a singular feature, offering flexibility and longevity as the company grows and evolves.
To achieve this, we chose an abstract direction for the logo mark, allowing it to serve as a timeless representation of the brand without tying it to a specific product feature. This decision was guided by the need to future-proof the brand, giving JourneyGen AI the ability to expand its offerings without feeling constrained by its visual identity.
Drawing inspiration from the company's mission, I combined the J and G from their name, using the newly established brand typography. The result was an abstract plug icon—a subtle but meaningful nod to the company's role in connecting and amplifying travel solutions. The plug symbol speaks to the company's foundation as an integrative and adaptable technology, capable of supporting growth and white-label solutions.
